Due to the incredible success of King’s Park Academy’s previous fundraising event (the Read-and-Ride-A-Thon), we decided to challenge ourselves with another venture: Three Peaks, Three Days. Now, you may be wondering, what is Three Peaks, Three Days? Well, in a nutshell, it is an event where some of the staff at KPA take part to try and climb the three highest peaks in the United Kingdom. The money raised by the event will go towards improving the outdoor area of our school to provide a more enjoyable playtime.
8 teachers (Mr Jerrams, Miss Heckford, Mr Fox, Miss Guy, Miss Lewis, Miss Griggs, Miss Thomas and Mr Burton) will be taking part in this activity, and they will be travelling to Ben Nevis (1,345m) in Scotland, Snowdon (1,085m) in Wales and Scafell Pike (978m) in England! Mr Jerrams has claimed that he is going to prepare by walking up and down in zig-zags at the beach. These walks “will last probably about 3-5 hours” and will give the teachers vital training for the big adventure!
Mr J has already began his training…Look out for him out and about in Bournemouth!
